The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery

A page-turning science book that reads like a memoir, this story explores the intelligence and emotional world of octopuses. Montgomery, a naturalist and author, immerses herself in the world of octopuses, both in aquariums and in the wild, and forms strong connections with several individuals, including Athena, Octavia, Kali, and Karma. She examines their behavior, problem-solving abilities, and unique communication methods, challenging common misconceptions about these creatures and highlighting their surprisingly complex consciousness.

This book discussion will be held at the Somers Senior Center.

Copies of the book will be available at the senior center and the library.
